The Lapida Hotel is a true one-of-a-kind — a family-run boutique retreat in the picturesque village of Lapta, where Cypriot character and warmth are woven into every detail. Open all year round, this is a place that feels genuinely different from the moment you arrive.
Owner Fethi and his family have filled the hotel with personality — original paintings, antique collections of old irons and cameras, and boutique touches throughout that give the hotel a charm you simply won't find elsewhere. It's a living, breathing celebration of Cypriot culture and heritage.
Breakfast is something special here. Fruit and vegetables are grown in the hotel's own garden and served fresh each morning — fully organic and full of flavour. The grandmother of the family oversees the kitchen, and her cooking is the stuff of legend. Don't leave without trying her slow-roast lamb, cooked in the hotel's traditional clay oven.
Guests also have free access to Driftwood Beach, a lovely stretch of coastline just 10–15 minutes' walk from the hotel — perfect for those who want sun, sea and sand without the crowds.
Cyprus Paradise Experts Recommend
Stroll the Lapta coastal walk — a stunning promenade with sensational views, just a few minutes' drive from the hotel. Follow it to Sardunya Bay, a lovely beach with small boat rides and a casual waterfront restaurant.
The Silver Rocks restaurant on the main road is a must. Whether it's a coffee, a drink at the bar or a full meal overlooking the coast, it never disappoints — and they have a pool too if you fancy a dip.
For a relaxed lunch stop, The Wild Duck is just two minutes away and great for families, with a small park and local animals for the children to enjoy.
For something livelier, The Fly Inn and The Lodge sit on the popular Lapta Strip — a vibrant stretch of restaurants and bars, some with sea views. Or jump on the local dolmuş bus for a 30-minute ride into the heart of Kyrenia Town.
And don't forget — ask Fethi. He knows every hidden gem in the area and is always happy to point you in the right direction.
This is one of those experiences that stays with you long after the holiday is over. Fethi's mother — a wonderful Cypriot lady with years of tradition behind her — teaches guests how to make authentic Cypriot bread from scratch. You get hands-on, shape your own loaf, and watch it bake in the hotel's stone oven. The result? Warm, fresh bread with a flavour that's simply unbeatable. Available free of charge to all Cyprus Paradise guests — just let reception know on arrival and they'll arrange everything.
North Cyprus produces some truly exceptional wines — and most of them you'll never find on a supermarket shelf back home. At the Lapida, Cyprus Paradise guests are treated to a complimentary tasting of locally produced Cypriot wines, served with snacks and fresh fruit. Choose to enjoy it in the cosy interior of the hotel or out in the tranquil garden, surrounded by lush greenery and mountain views. It's a wonderfully relaxed way to spend an evening — and if you find a favourite, you can buy a bottle to take home.
Just 10–15 minutes' walk from the hotel, Driftwood Beach is a quiet, unspoilt stretch of coastline that Lapida guests can access completely free of charge. Away from the busier resort beaches, this is the kind of spot where you can properly switch off — sunbeds, clear water and a genuinely relaxed atmosphere. And when hunger strikes, the Driftwood Restaurant & Bar is right on hand — a 2025 TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice award winner and well worth a visit in its own right.
The Lapida Hotel offers a spacious freshwater swimming pool with a separate children’s section. Set within the hotel's beautiful Mediterranean gardens, the freshwater pool is a lovely place to spend a lazy afternoon. There's a separate children's section, plenty of sunbeds, shaded seating, a hammock and open grassy areas to spread out. The pool bar is close at hand for cold drinks, and the mountain views make the whole setting feel a cut above.
Breakfast is served open buffet in the hotel's light & airy restaurant, offering a wide range of cuisine where local Turkish Cypriot dishes are their speciality. The great thing about this small Cypriot family run hotel, is that the waiters will know your name and food preferences before long! Grandmother actually cooks the delicious food – make sure you try her speciality, slow-roast lamb, cooked in the hotel's clay oven – it melts in the mouth!
The Lapida is not your average hotel. Owner Fethi is a passionate collector, and his love of Cypriot heritage is evident throughout — antique irons, vintage cameras, original paintings and carefully chosen touches fill every corner. It's a place with genuine soul, where the décor tells a story and no two spaces feel the same. If you appreciate character over corporate, you'll feel right at home here.
